Tonight’s dinner…homemade tzatzki with hummus, arugula and spinach wrap!
To make the tzatziki, i used:
1 cup Greek yogurt
Juice of 1 small lemon
1/3 of a cucumber, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
Dill
1 garlic clove, minced

Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and you’ll have homemade tzatziki! (You can adjust the lemon juice and dill to your taste and add veggies of your choice)

This little boy is so amazing. He lost his mom when he was 8 years old and two years later, lost his dad. He sings this song when he misses his mother. So amazing, talented and strong. Whether you understand the language or not, you can really feel his emotions through his singing.

Cream Puffs!!

First attempt at making cream puffs and they turned out wonderfully (to me at least)!! Definitely not as hard as I thought it would be. You can find the recipe here http://allrecipes.com/recipe/lemon-cream-puffs/detail.aspx

The recipe is for a lemon filling but you could always just use plain whipped cream or whatever flavour u feel like.

But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE re-blog this, it has to get out there. This is the most terrible and inhumane thing I have ever seen, I could only watch the beginning- I was crying.

Using animal fur or skin for coats, or bags or belts is horrible and cruel and it needs to be stops. Animals are abused in the most terrible ways. They’re skinned alive, suffocated, hung, beaten, their conditions are awful, and abused in so many other more terrible ways. I can’t even.

There’s another video about furs on PETA.org, but I couldn’t even press play. The snake at the beginning being cut open alive… and the lizard’s head being cut off… and when you could hear its skin being torn off as it still moved… That’s when I stopped watching.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REBLOG THIS!!! PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW HOW TERRIBLE AND INHUMANE USING ANIMAL’S FUR AND SKIN IS. THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.

I hardly ever ask anyone to read something I post, but I want absolutely everyone to read this. These animals are called Raccoon Dogs. They feed on insects, mouse like rodents, amphibians, birds, fish, reptiles, mollusks, carrion and insectivores. In Japan, they have been observed to climb trees to forage for fruits and berries. These animals are no burden to our environment! Yet everyday, they are massacred and slaughtered, only for their fur. These poor helpless animals are skinned alive everyday, undergoing a very slow torture. They don’t even put the animal down before skinning it. They throw it and beat it so it does not resist being skinned! The animals have no choice but to suffer and endure this painful and agonizing experience only to be tossed aside into a pile of other skinned Raccoon Dogs, so that it may lay there, helpless to suffer pain and torment until finally, it dies. How would you feel if someone did that to you for your skin? Fur is not something we need. Why should animals be skinned alive so that we may have it? We weren’t given fur on our bodies, therefore we obviously do not need it. If you’re cold, wear a jacket. If your feet are cold, wear socks!

A Shocking Look Inside Chinese Fur Farms.

To their horror, investigators found that foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals are still alive and struggling desperately when workers flip them onto their backs or hang them up by their legs or tails to skin them. When workers begin to cut the skin and fur from an animal’s leg, the free limbs kick and writhe. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of animals who struggle too hard to allow a clean cut. When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals’ heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly as long as 10 minutes after they have been skinned. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on top of the heap of carcasses who still had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera.

Because fur’s country of origin can’t be traced, everyone who wears fur shares the blame for the horrific conditions on Chinese fur farms. The only way to prevent such unimaginable cruelty is never to wear any fur.

Tonight’s dinner…..Spaghetti Squash with Ragu!!! Spaghetti Squash is a great substitute for pasta if you’re not feeling carbs. It’s quite easy to make!

To cook the Spaghetti Squash, I just cut it in half, scraped out all the seeds and pulp, and boiled it for about 20 min. Once it’s cooked, use a fork to separate the strands (stern to stern). For the sauce, I just sauteed some onions, then I added in ground turkey breast that I seasoned with some herbs, and some mushrooms. Let them cook down a bit and then I added a bottle of Ragu. I find that pre-made Spaghetti sauce can sometimes be a bit bland so I just added some herbs to add more flavor.
